Everyone needs support, we get by with a little help from our friends, teamwork makes the dream work, etc. We all know that accountability, support, and surrounding yourself with people who push you to grow is insanely valuable - but how do you find those people for yourself and your goals?
Join us for our women’s panel - Elevating Women Leaders Through Mastermind Groups to learn from some of the best in the biz!
These four successful ladies have been coming together for over three years in a bi-monthly mastermind group. They know their scheduled support and collaboration has contributed to the growth of their four respective companies. Meet Our Amazing Speakers!
Liz Tucker | Owner Of Poppy
“I consider myself a native of Columbia! I've been married to Travis for 14 years (and his business for 10. We have two kids (Wade, 12 and Georgia, 9). I own/operate a shop in downtown Columbia called Poppy that sells handmade goods. We're known for our jewelry and our stationery! I took over the business from the previous owner seven years ago after working for her for seven years. I continue to do what I do because I look forward to each interaction with my makers, customers and employees. This business allows me to work really hard when I need to so that I can be present for my family when I need to be there. So incredibly lucky to be doing what I do.”
Kristen Brown | Owner of Hoot Design Company
“Hoot Design Co. is a female owned and led full service ad agency. We love creating brands for people who are passionate about what they do, especially female entrepreneurs. I am a Columbia native with two kids and a husband. I love our community and love being a part of its progress by helping businesses thrive in a competitive landscape.”
Beth Snyder | Owner of 1Canoe2
“All my life I've had crazy ideas that I tried to tone down or hide from the world. As a 4th grader, I started a co-operative friendship bracelet business that ultimately ended up in the principal's office, much to my "good girl" chagrin. But something in me just keeps pushing forward, forging the way with no regard for the usual trail markings of "grad school" or "middle management". I'm so thrilled and honored to be the leader of the amazing 12 women who make 1canoe2 one of the most successful small stationery companies in the biz. Nothing motivates me more than someone telling me I can't do it. I consider my role in 1canoe2 to be chief cheerleader and maker of hard calls. I've worn all the hats over time: artist, product developer, photographer, marketing, accountant, HR, shipping, and trash-taker-outer. I think building something from the ground up creates a sense of gratitude that cannot be imitated. I keep coming to work everyday because I love the people I work with and I want to prove to the world that you can succeed not just in spite of being kind and flexible and empathetic, but BECAUSE of it.”
Jesse Bodine | Owner of Scout & Nimble
“In 2011, I started a blog as a creative outlet for myself and to share my love for interior design. My readership soon grew to 300,000 unique visitors a month and I was hit with a long list of clients requesting me to help them with their own homes, including remodels and new construction across the country. This client work allowed me to turn my passion into a business and I soon discovered many issues that both designers and their clients faced. Realizing there was a lack of tools in the industry for both designers and consumers, I joined forces with my husband to create a solution. In 2014, we launched Scout & Nimble, an online home furnishings e-commerce site where designers across the country build shoppable rooms utilizing Scout & Nimble products. Scout & Nimble is now a nationally recognized multi-million-dollar business, with over 250K followers on Instagram alone. I still take on select client work and have been involved in over 100+ projects, including luxury new construction all over the US. I have always had a passion for design and love the client work, but I also love helping other interior designers streamline their businesses to be more efficient and effective.”
