What We Love Wednesdays

What We Love Wednesdays is back, baby! Haven't you missed it? We're working out a schedule for our blogs thanks to Teah Hopper Consulting and WWLW will be back more regularly in the new year! Consistency and planning is one of our big goals in 2018, so if you see us start to slack over here definitely call us out - the more accountability, the better!

It's so comfy and I feel like I can be causal or dress it up. Wear it with jeans, wear it with a vest and yup, I even wear it with a pencil skirt thanks to inspiration from the ever so stylish Lara Pieper.

Yogi Tea     I really don't need as much caffeine as I think I do. Sean would say the same thing. During our detox, we couldn't drink coffee and so we started drinking tea. It's become routine to drink the Relaxed Mind and wow does it do exactly that. Relaxing my mind is no easy feat, especially being on the computer so much during the day, so I appreciate the extra help! Some have caffeine and some don't, so when I need that extra kick I can get it. But when I just want to warm up in the afternoon, I can do a cup of non-caffeinated. My current favorites are: relaxed mind, peppermint, and mango ginger.

Ellie's Potty Training Okay, this might be a stretch for the word "love" - some days I do love it, and some days I do not (I won't go into details - you're welcome). I've read to not push it and let them do it on their own and that's exactly what we did. We would take her when she asked and then change her when she didn't. The best was seeing her face scrunch up and ask, "do you need to go poop?" and in a forced grunting voice hear, "nope". Alrighty then!   It worked out great as she decided to make it official over Christmas break - so it was much easier for her to go to the bathroom 17 times in one day while at home. Her excitement for her accomplishments are adorable and she loves hearing us say, "we're so proud of you!" So much so that she tells me how proud she is when I go - some days it's so needed! So, here we are rocking some big girl undies and eating a lot of m&m's.

Last Firsts Earlier this week, I had my LAST first day of school ever. Like, literally ever. As in if I don’t want to go to school ever again after this semester I literally don’t have to at all. Some might find this to be a bitter-sweet thing, but for me it’s just sweet. I have been in college for the exact same duration of time that I have been a mother and it’s going to feel really, really good to walk across that stage in May knowing just how hard I’ve worked for that piece of paper. Check back in with me to see how I’m feeling in April, but right now I am riding high knowing that these final 16 weeks are all that stands between me and a goal I’ve been working on for so long!

Southwest Airlines Ok, I realize this is probably a really frivolous thing to include, but if you know about the long term long distance relationship I’m in it will make a little more sense! You guys, I am so thankful for Southwest Airlines! When you’re planning over 7 trips a year, you really do start to develop a favorite airline and Southwest is mine by far. I’m so grateful for free flight vouchers for silly little delays and for the awesome customer service they’ve given repeatedly. Plus, I would like to give a major shoutout to on-flight wifi and the countless times this has saved me at both work and school.

My Job & My Routine Not to be a Scrooge, but I have to say I’m so thankful to be back into the swing of things now that the holidays are through. It’s one time a year and it’s really fun to see friends, family, and indulge in all of my favorite snacks but I’m thankful we’ve fallen back into a routine. I’m thankful for bedtimes and I am thankful for preschool! I am also thankful to be back at The Hatchery more consistently after vacations and winter break!
