An Honest Look At Life And Business

Stepping Down | Thank You To The Community That Has Inspired Me To Reach For More

Where do I even begin with this blog post? I guess I should take it all the way back to the very beginning - two entire years ago when I was a very scared but determined 21-year old who met someone with a dream that set my heart on fire.

As many of you know, I have been with The Hatchery…well…since before it really was “The Hatchery” - I joined the business in May of 2017 and we opened our doors in July of 2017. I learned about Amanda’s dream and vision for The Hatchery, and in very true-to-me fashion I stopped Amanda at a grocery store and told her I would happily pick up her dry cleaning if it meant being employed by The Hatchery. The rest, as they say, is history. Thankfully, she allowed me to do so much more than the errands!

What has happened in the two years between then and now has truly changed my life. Amanda blessed me with an opportunity to learn, grow, and expand right along with the business and from day one I have felt complete psychological ownership when it comes to The Hatchery and my role within it.

I have met countless inspirational members. I have helped businesses grow. I have taught classes. I have made friends and met mentors who have brightened my life. I completed my education in this space. I have sat back and watched amazing, driven, creative people take an idea and turn it into a business. I have had a front row seat to a community that inspires me every single day and now, it’s time for me to take that inspiration and set off on my own.

It genuinely brings tears to my eyes (in the good and the sad ways!) that my last day as an employee of The Hatchery will be March 28th. While I will no longer be involved with The Hatchery in a traditional, hourly capacity you will definitely still see me around the space - only this time as a member and a business owner!

I am THRILLED to announce that I am now the proud owner of The Ink Cafe as well as Raigan Mastain Creative Communication!

The Ink Cafe allows me to serve couples by creating beautiful, custom wedding stationery. The previous owners, Jon Marc & Christy Asper, have so graciously provided me with a remarkable foundation and I could not ever come up with words to adequately thank them. The Ink Cafe will continue to provide the impeccable design & customer service that they have always delivered and Christy & Jon Marc will continue be with me as mentors!

Raigan Mastain Creative Communication will allow me to serve another community I love so dearly - businesses + business owners! I will be providing graphic design & strategic communication services to businesses looking to solidify their brand & grow their social media engagement. So if you’ve been dragging your feet on a new logo, business card, or if your social media is driving you up a wall - I’m your gal! (Seriously, I am accepting new clients!)

Woo - it feels good to finally have that out in the open! I love The Hatchery. I love the community it’s created for entrepreneurs in Columbia.

And I love that it’s finally time for me to take a leap of faith and join that community myself! See you soon, friends!
